Mike Furney is the founder of Furney Law. Mike brings 30 years of legal and business experience and expertise to his clients.

Bank of America - Trust. Mike designed, marketed and delivered training on qualified retirement plan services, e.g. custodial, trustee, investment and recordkeeping services for defined benefit, money purchase, profit sharing and 401(k) plans. Mike left Bank of America as Assistant Vice President & Trust Officer.

GE Financial Assurance. Mike performed multiple headquarters and operating unit functions at GE. Specialties included contracts, tax, insurance law, ERISA, Structured Settlements and compliance. Mike became a nationally recognized expert in Structured Settlements and authored IRC Section 5891 and The Model Structured Settlement Protection Act, enacted in 47 states. Mike left GE as Vice President Government Relations & Associate General Counsel.

Furney Law. We utilize big firm experience to assist businesses and individuals on a broad range of issues. Understanding and anticipating the practices and motivations of potential allies and adversaries is critical to success. Both individuals and businesses benefit from the application of broad legal expertise to the development of creative and cost effective solutions.

Mike was a police detective prior to completing his education and pursuing his career as a business and legal professional. He earned his BA in Accounting from the University of Washington, and his Juris Doctor in Law (cum laude) from Seattle University.
